U.S. thanked Paraguay for its support in the fight against narcoterrorism and the strengthening of hemispheric security

Asunción, Agencia IP.- President Santiago Peña held a telephone conversation this Thursday with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who expressed his gratitude for Paraguay’s support in strengthening security in the hemisphere.

«Our commitment to democracy and the well-being of our people is unwavering. We reaffirmed the values ​​we share and agreed on the importance of working together to promote security, stability, and prosperity in the region,» said President Peña, referring to his conversation with the Secretary of State.

During the call, they also discussed the operation that led to the capture of Nicolás Maduro and Cilia Flores on January 3.
