Asunción, Agencia IP.- The President of the Republic, Santiago Peña, maintained a telephonic conversation with the elected president of Argentina, Javier Milei, on an occasion in which they spoke about essential aspects of the bilateral agenda. The «approximation and great understanding between both leaders» was also highlighted.
It was confirmed this morning by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rubén Ramírez Lezcano, during a press conference in Mburuvicha Róga.
«The dialogue was cordial. Different and interesting topics were approached since both presidents are economists and chancellors too, so there is a stimulating conversation and a great understanding between both leaders,» he stated.
Ramírez Lezcano informed that yesterday, he was in permanent conversation with the Chancellor designated by Milei, Diana Mondino, and, in that context, the telephone contact between Santiago Peña and the Argentine president-elect was established this morning.
He said that during the conversation, aspects of coincidences in the relations between Paraguay and Argentina were highlighted, mainly concerning bilateral and regional integration with a shared approach.
«As well as the issues that make up the bilateral agenda between our two countries, such as the physical integration of connection nodes such as Clorinda, Falcón, Encarnación-Posadas, as well as the issues of the future bridge between Pilar-Bermejo, also the issues of the waterway and Yacyretá,» he explained.
In that context, President Santiago Peña accepted Milei’s invitation to assist in the transfer of command ceremony in the Argentine capital, Buenos Aires, on December 10.
