Asunción, Agencia IP.- The President of the Republic, Santiago Peña, departed this morning to Chile for a three-day visit. An extensive agenda of meetings with legislators and businesspersons of Chile is planned.
The President’s departure ceremony was today at 07:30 a.m., after which the President left for the Chilean capital.
According to the agenda for today, the President will meet first with the President of the Senate of the Republic of Chile, Juan Antonio Coloma, and the President of the Deputy Chamber, Ricardo Cifuentes.
Subsequently, the Paraguayan embassy in that country plans and organizes a lunch with Chilean business people.
The President will meet with several businesspersons in the afternoon, including Teodoro Ribera, Andrónico Luksic Lederer, Andrés Meneses, and Eduardo Chadwick.
Finally, tonight, the President will assist in a dinner offered by businesspersons.
Tomorrow, the President will provide a conference at the headquarters of Cepal at 10:30. The executive Secretary of the organism, José Salazar-Xirinachs, will accompany Peña.
The agenda also includes a lunch with business persons from the Chilean Chamber of Construction, a floral offering to the Monument of the Liberated General Bernardo O’Higgins, and meetings with the Governor of Tarapacá, José Miguel Carvajal, the mayor of Iquique, Mauricio Soria and the governor of Antofagasta, Nalto Espinoza.
The official visit will take place until Wednesday, November 8.
