Asunción, Agencia IP.- President Santiago Peña signed the founding charter of the «Peace Board» this Thursday in a historic ceremony held in Davos, Switzerland, presided over by U.S. President Donald Trump.
Along with President Peña, some twenty Heads of State from different regions of the world signed the charter. «The first steps toward a brighter day for the Middle East, and a much safer future for the world are unfolding right before your very eyes,» said Trump, noting the massive support the initiative enjoys.
Following the signing of the document, the next steps for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip were presented, and Ali Shaath, the leader of the technocratic committee appointed to head the territory’s administration, announced the reopening next week of the crossing in Rafah, on the border with Egypt.
For his part, Jared Kushner, President Trump’s son-in-law and a key figure in the negotiation of the Gaza peace plan, provided details of the «master plan» for the future of Gaza, which included security measures, the establishment of a free market economy, infrastructure reconstruction, and the deradicalization of the population in the Strip.
