Asunción, Agencia IP.- The Head of State, Santiago Peña, met with the United States Southern Command commander, Laura Richardson, at the Southern Command headquarters in Miami. They discussed strengthening security forces to combat drug trafficking and transnational criminal organizations.

“Today, I visited the headquarters of the Southern Command, in the company of General Laura Richardson and leaders of the United States Department of Defense,” the President reported through his social networks.

During the meeting, they analyzed regional security initiatives and defense cooperation between the United States and Paraguay, as reported by Santiago Peña.

Likewise, the authorities discussed the importance of continuing to strengthen the security forces of both nations, intending to combat drug trafficking and transnational criminal organizations.
