Paraguayan products enter 16 new markets for the first time

Asunción, Agencia IP.- The Intelligence Directorate of the Vice Ministry of REDIEX reported that in the first three months of 2025, Paraguay successfully introduced 17 national products into 16 new international markets, totaling over USD 6.9 million in exports.

For the first time in the first quarter of 2025, manufactured goods such as edible gelatin, cassava starch, electric bicycles, and bovine offal reached destinations like France, Austria, the United States, and Uzbekistan.

Between January and March, new markets included Kazakhstan, Hong Kong, Uzbekistan, Bermuda, Austria, Suriname, France, and others across various continents.

It’s worth noting that while Paraguay already had commercial ties with some of these countries, the specific products mentioned were introduced into these markets for the first time.

Some of the standout exports include:

  • Chia seeds to Kazakhstan for USD 83,280, breaking into Central Asia.
  • Ice cream and gelatin capsules to Brazil for USD 80,926 and USD 280,781, respectively.
  • Tanned bovine leather to the Czech Republic for USD 175,209, targeting the demanding European market.
  • Cigarette filters to Canada for USD 103,617.
  • Bronze scrap to Hong Kong for USD 151,258.
  • Bovine offal to Uzbekistan (USD 50,945) and Bermuda (USD 54,858).
  • Aluminum construction materials to Venezuela for USD 86,171.
  • Cassava starch to Austria for USD 113,288, and glycerin to India for USD 122,699.
  • Ethanol derived from cereals to Argentina with a shipment of USD 4,787,623 — the largest in this series.
  • Shredded tobacco to Suriname for USD 311,494 and edible gelatin to France for USD 83,171.
  • Laminated glass to Uruguay for USD 50,376, and iron structures to Argentina for USD 173,977.
  • Electric cabinets to Bolivia for USD 58,000, and electric bicycles to the United States for USD 56,840.

This expansion reflects the dynamism of Paraguay’s industrial sector and the joint efforts of producers, exporters, and public institutions to open new markets, improve product quality, and meet international standards.

The diversification of destinations—spanning the Americas, Europe, and Asia—positions Paraguay as an increasingly competitive player in global trade, with products ranging from food to technology and industrial goods.
