Paraguay and the United States launch the third edition of the AMISTAD’26 medical mission

Asunción, Agencia IP.- Specialists from Paraguay and the United States have launched the third edition of the AMISTAD’26 Medical Mission, a series of medical outreach activities that include free ophthalmology, dentistry, audiology, and family health services at four Family Health Units (USFs) of the XI Health Region – Central.

The mission brings together more than 30 U.S. professionals, including physicians, nurses, family medicine specialists, and other healthcare experts, who will provide free medical care in the city of Capiatá from June 16 through June 26 as part of ongoing international health cooperation and capacity-building efforts between the two countries.

The medical activities will be supported by Paraguayan civilian and military teams working alongside the U.S. delegation at the four Family Health Units. The free services will benefit community members previously selected by local healthcare teams based on identified needs and the specialties available through the mission.

In addition, the initiative will include training and capacity-building activities for Paraguayan healthcare and military personnel. The U.S. delegation is also contributing medications, medical supplies, and equipment required for the activities, as well as donating remaining materials at the conclusion of the mission.

This initiative reflects the shared commitment of Paraguay and the United States to strengthening healthcare systems and expanding access to quality health services for vulnerable communities.
