Paraguay and Poland hold the first meeting of the Political Consultations Mechanism

Asunción, Agencia IP.- The Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Víctor Verdún, and the Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland, Wojciech Zajączkowski, led in Asunción the First Meeting of the Political Consultations Mechanism between both countries.

During the meeting, they signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the Establishment of a Political Consultations Mechanism. This instrument institutionalizes dialogue between the two foreign ministries and promotes periodic consultations on bilateral, regional, and multilateral matters.

The delegations reviewed the current state of bilateral relations, including prospects for strengthening cooperation in the political, economic, and technological fields. They also exchanged views on issues of interest on the international agenda and within various multilateral forums.

Both sides highlighted the historic friendship between Paraguay and Poland, built on ties established by Polish immigration to Paraguay, which made a notable contribution to the country’s social, cultural, and economic development. In this regard, they agreed on the importance of continuing to promote initiatives to expand bilateral trade, encourage investment, and strengthen exchanges between both peoples.

Finally, the authorities welcomed the holding of this first meeting and reaffirmed their commitment to further deepening political dialogue and cooperation between Paraguay and Poland.
