Asunción, Agencia IP.- The General Coordinator of Rally Paraguay 2026, César Marsal, together with Deputy General Director Ricardo Deggeller and the Strategic Communication team of MITIC, held a working meeting with the Ambassador of Japan to Paraguay, Katsumi Itagaki, at the Asian country’s diplomatic headquarters, as part of the preparations for the event.
The main objective of the meeting was to advance coordination efforts ahead of the international competition, which will take place next August, and position Paraguay as a key destination on the global motorsport calendar.
During the meeting, Japan’s relevance to the Rally was highlighted, considering its leading role in the automotive industry and its presence in the competition through prominent drivers such as Takamoto Katsuta, recent winner of the Kenya Rally, one of the most demanding events on the international circuit.
Both parties also discussed future official visits and cooperation initiatives promoted by Japan throughout the year, aimed at strengthening sports, cultural, and technological ties between the two countries.
As a gesture of cultural diplomacy, the CEO of Rally Paraguay presented Ambassador Itagaki with a miniature of the «kambuchi» trophy, crafted in clay using the ancestral ñai’upo technique, a symbol of Paraguayan identity and artisanal tradition.
Rally Paraguay is strengthening its position as an internationally recognized event, promoting motorsport and Paraguay as a tourist and cultural destination worldwide.
