Asunción, Agencia IP.- Starting this Monday, the Conference of the Parties (COP) regarding the World Health Organization Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (WHO FCTC) and the Protocol to Eliminate Illicit Trade in Tobacco Products (MOP3) begins.
The governing bodies of the two global treaties are preparing to meet in Panama City until February 15. The sessions of both conventions will be public unless the parties decide otherwise. Officials from the Health Surveillance Directorate represent Paraguay.
Since December 2019, our country has had a resolution from the Ministry of Health prohibiting the sale of electronic cigarettes and vaping devices to minors and establishing regulations for their commercialization. Likewise, since 2021, all tobacco products in enclosed spaces have been prohibited.
