Ministry of Economy highlights the importance of the OECD as a strategic associate

Asunción, Agencia IP.- The Ministry of Economy and Finances (MEF, by its acronym in Spanish) highlighted the importance of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) as a strategic associate in formulating public policies that promote the country’s sustainable development.

The Minister of Economics and Finances, Carlos Fernádez Valdovinos, reunited in Paris, France, with the Secretary-General of OECD, Mathias Cormann, aiming to strengthen the cooperation ties between both institutions.

The Ministry of Economy and Finances highlighted the cooperation that Paraguay has maintained with the OECD during the last few years and pointed out the interest of our country to keep working together. During the meeting, they dialogued about the advances and projects in progress that have been possible through the strategic collaboration covering a wide range of areas of common interest, from strengthening the economy to promoting transparency and efficiency in public management.

Likewise, Minister Fernández Valdovinos also announced that it is expected to keep working together on topics of common interest during the next five years. This reinforces Paraguay’s commitment to keep advancing in its economic and sustainable development, thanks to the cooperation with the OECD, an international organization of prestige in the economic and financial scope. 

The Vice Minister of Economy and Planification, Javier Charotti, the President of the Central Bank of Paraguay, Carlos Carvallo, and other organization authorities participated in the encounter.
