Asunción, Agencia IP.- The Paraguay Carbon Forum 2026, an international event that will position the country as a key player in the regional and global debate on carbon markets, climate cooperation, and sustainable development, will take place on Wednesday, March 25, and Thursday, March 26, 2026, at the Sheraton Hotel. The event is 100% free and in-person, with prior registration and limited spaces available.
The meeting will bring together national authorities, representatives of international organizations, the private sector, technical experts, and stakeholders from the financial and environmental sectors, with the aim of analyzing progress, challenges, and opportunities related to the carbon economy, a strategic focus for meeting climate commitments and attracting sustainable investments.

The program on Wednesday, March 25, will begin with a series of keynote addresses. Among the central themes are the global carbon market, its trends and risks, Paraguay’s role in international climate cooperation, and its roadmap for integrating into these markets.
One of the highlights will be the presentation of the Paraguay-Singapore agreement, considered a pioneering initiative in the region for its potential to open international markets, attract investment, and generate high-value carbon credits. Throughout the day, panels will cover carbon market experiences in Latin America, the progress and challenges of jurisdictional REDD+, and the integration of clean energy, efficient industry, and new competitiveness models.
The link between agriculture, livestock, and carbon will also be addressed, with an emphasis on productive innovation for a climate-smart economy, as well as the social component of climate projects, focusing on communities and the territory. The day will conclude with a closing panel on Paraguay’s opportunities in the carbon economy.
Integrity, legal security, and financing
Thursday, March 26, will focus on the institutional and financial aspects that underpin the development of carbon markets. The agenda includes panels on environmental integrity, international standards, institutional strengthening, and trust-building, as well as legal security and risk management associated with these markets.
The forum will conclude with an analysis of future carbon financing in Paraguay, exploring opportunities, models, and strategies to consolidate the country’s participation in this area. The day will culminate in a networking session and business roundtable aimed at fostering alliances between public and private stakeholders.
