International experts train on electric vehicle development in Paraguay

Asunción, Agencia IP.- The Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the Itaipú Technological Park are promoting training on the development of electric vehicles in Paraguay. As part of this initiative, an expert lecture on electromobility was held at the Visitor Reception Center of Itaipú Binacional in Hernandarias. This event gathered more than 100 people in Alto Paraná.

Professors Kiung-Jin Ryu and Young-Chan Lim, both from Youngnam University in Korea, led the presentation. They are specialists in Hybrid Electric Vehicles, automobile Design, Autonomous Vehicle Programming, and Aerodynamics, respectively.

The instructors emphasized the «Sustainable Mobility Revolution: Global Trends in Electric Mobility and Autonomous Vehicles.»

Training for selected technicians

This week saw the initial modules of intensive theoretical and practical training on electric vehicles for 20 selected technicians from the automotive sector. This training is part of the collaborative advancements between Paraguay and South Korea to establish the first regional TASK Center in the country.

The specific modules covered include an Overview of Electric Vehicles (EV), High-Voltage Safety Handling, High-Voltage Insulation Practice, Structure and Functions of EV Parts, Structure and Functions of EV Components and Parts, EV Diagnostics Practice, Structure and Function of the E-GMP System, and EV Diagnostics Practice.

This first training edition started on July 1 and will run until July 5. It is led by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, along with Itaipú Binacional and the Itaipú Technological Park.

Upon completion of the training, the TASK Paraguay Auto Parts Center, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, and PTI will award certificates corresponding to 50 classroom hours.

Additionally, four participants will be selected for a technical visit to Korea, with the project covering travel and accommodation.

These joint efforts aim to enhance Paraguayan companies’ access and transition to after-sales services, repair, and maintenance to meet the growing global demand for Electric Vehicles.

The Ministry of Industry and Commerce reported that this is achieved by training Paraguayan technicians with solid knowledge of technology theory, key aspects of electric vehicle maintenance and high-voltage safety, and an introduction to cutting-edge E-GMP electric vehicle technology provided by top-level professionals from Korea.
