Government receives disbursement from Taiwan for 862 housing solutions in indigenous communities

Asunción, Agencia IP.- The signing of the acceptance document for the third disbursement of USD 2,387,830, destined for the project «Construction of 862 housing solutions for indigenous communities,» whose total amount amounts to USD 12,000,000, was carried out on past Monday, the 22nd, at the headquarters of the National Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The event was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rubén Ramírez Lezcano, as the guest of honor witness. The Minister of Urban Development, Housing, and Habitat, Juan Carlos Baruja, and the Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan), José Chih-Cheng Han, formalized the document signing.

On this occasion, the Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed that this disbursement guarantees the continuity of the project to construct 862 homes for indigenous communities. These 862 families will experience a substantial improvement in their quality of life and will have the opportunity to build a future with safer and more dignified homes.

«This occasion highlights the essential role of cooperation from the Republic of China-Taiwan in achieving our sustainable development goals and promoting the well-being of our citizens. Above all, I want to emphasize that this is another opportunity to deepen, reinforce, and strengthen the bonds of friendship between Paraguay and Taiwan,» he said.

The Ambassador reiterated that his country’s government will continue to collaborate and support cooperation and investments aimed at strengthening bilateral relations for the development of our people.

Minister Baruja mentioned that for the Ministry of Urban Development, Housing, and Habitat, receiving this third donation is a very important act, as it represents the conclusion of the housing project and provides significant assistance to vulnerable families in the Republic of Paraguay, especially single mothers.
