The official website of the South American Football Confederation (Conmebol) highlighted the conquest on the X social network.
«The pre-Olympic is for the Albirroja,» it posted, adding that the Paraguayan selection once again inscribed its name in the select group of pre-Olympic champions.
«The team of Carlos Jara Saguier was crowned champion for the second time in its history,» it recalled and concluded with the phrase «Passport up to date!»
Meanwhile, the Olympic Games website announced that «Paraguay will be in Paris 2024» and added, «After 20 years, Albirroja qualified again for the men’s football tournament of the Olympic Games.»
«Paraguay is crowned champion of the 2024 Pre-Olympic,» said Panam Sports, commenting that the Albirroja defeated Venezuela 2-0 and won the title of Pre-Olympic champion, qualifying for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
