Asunción, Agencia IP.- Communications Vice Minister Alejandra Duarte Albospino met in Madrid with the President of Agencia EFE news, Gabriela Cañas, aiming to advance a work agenda for the positioning of the State’s media and the multiple services that offer the most significant Spanish speaking news agency.

Likewise, they reiterate their interest in meeting Paraguayan key actors, such as President Santiago Peña.

During the visit, the Vice Minister offered an interview in the International Direction, approaching a work path of Paraguay’s Government and President Santiago Peña priorities regarding strengthening the State’s media and managing public information.

During her stay, she was also received by the International Director of EFE, Charo Gasca, whom she spoke with about Paraguay’s projection at an international level.

EFE is the leading Spanish-speaking news agency in the world, with a presence in all countries, including an office with a delegate in Paraguay.

Besides, EFE is the first agency news in Spanish and the fourth globally, with a trajectory of eighty years.

Its current President, Gabriela Cañas, became the first woman to lead the agency in May 2020. In 2022, according to Forbes, she was among Spain’s top 100 most influential women.
