US highlights Paraguay’s efforts to advance towards its digital objectives

Asunción, Agencia IP.- The US Government highlights Paraguay’s efforts in strengthening the “historical ties” between both countries and in the cooperation to advance shared “digital objectives and security.”

In that sense, the Assistant Secretary for Economic, Energy & Business Affairs at the Department of State, José W. Fernández, highlighted the “productive conversation” with the Paraguayan Minister of Technologies of Information and Communications, Gustavo Villate. They approached the efforts to impulse digitalization to strengthen the country’s growth.

“We hope to continue the discussions about Paraguay and United States cooperation, to advance in our digital objectives and of cybersecurity, which will strengthen economic growth and impulse investment”, expressed the US official through his account on the X platform.

The US Embassy in Paraguay also mentioned the reunion, stating that “the efforts of Paraguay’s Government representative working in Washington DC to strengthen our strong bilateral relationship even more. We celebrate the commitment to keep consolidating this historical friendship”, expressed the Embassy.

Minister Villate accompanied the President of the Republic, Santiago Peña, on his trip to the United States, where he maintained meetings with referents of technological enterprises, with whom he spoke about the importance of strengthening the technical infrastructure to secure Paraguay’s growth and development.
