Asunción, Agencia IP.- The President of the Republic, Santiago Peña, flew to New York, United States, to assist the 78 General Assembly of the United Nations.
This afternoon, the Head of State travelled with the First Lady, Leticia Ocampos. In a ceremony, national and military authorities gathered to say goodbye to the President.
President Peña, besides participating in the Assembly of the UN, will provide lectures in universities and take part in business forums and bilateral meetings with various leaders from the region and the world.
The Chancellor Rubén Ramírez Lezcano stated that during his intervention in the UN General Assembly, the President will approach topics such as the global insertion of Paraguay, which is one of the priorities of his administration. Also, aspects related to the environment, security, free navigation and the war between Russia and Ukraine.
The Head of State will also talk about the importance that the Republic of China (Taiwan) be included in the United Nations system. “At the same time, we have a series of aspects that we are finalizing so that it becomes part of the message priorities of the President of the Republic,” he stated.
