Asunción, Agencia IP.- Paraguay’s commitment to diversifying its economy and promoting sustainable development continues to attract international investors. Atome PLC’s CEO, Olivier Mussat, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to its project of installing a green hydrogen plant in the city of Villeta.
Mussat met with the Minister of Economy and Finance (MEF), Carlos Fernández Valdovinos. During the meeting, he highlighted that Paraguay’s recent achievement of an investment-grade rating was crucial in attracting foreign capital, adding to the support of multilateral organizations in favor of the green economy.
«We are confident that we can begin the investment soon,» stated the executive.
Mussat also reported on the upcoming visit of representatives from Yara. This international fertilizer company plans to purchase the plant’s entire production.
UK-based Atome Energy has a $500 million project for a hydrogen and fertilizer production plant in Villeta. The future plant has already secured the commercialization of 100% of its fertilizer production, derived from green hydrogen, with Yara.
Last December, President Santiago Peña met with the company’s chairman, Peter Levine, and representatives from Hy24, a firm specializing in hydrogen project investments, to discuss investment opportunities for the plant’s installation. Additionally, financing options are being arranged with institutions such as BID Invest for the $500 million investment.
